Frequently Asked Questions

What is TAX UK?

TAX UK is a virtual tax partner service designed for smaller accountancy practices which do not have a dedicated tax partner.

How we work?

TAX UK is a practice to practice consultancy service.  We operate by providing a wide range of bespoke tax consultancy services which you can offer to your own clients.  If required we can also act as the face of your firm liaising directly with your clients. To help accountants to use our services and understand where we could add value to your client base, we publish an informal tax digest, eTAX UK, containing in depth tax planning information relevant for your specific client base.

Does TAX UK undertake tax compliance services?

No, the types of services we offer are non-compliance based tax consultancy and planning.

What will it cost to use TAX UK?

It is free to register with TAX UK. We hope that by providing you with the technical knowledge plus planning ideas and suggestions to increase your tax services, you will come to us for bespoke tax advice. Each piece of work we undertake on your behalf is estimated and costed individually. As a company, wherever possible, we do not charge an hourly rate, and our fixed pricing model enables you to agree fees and build in an appropriate margin well in advance.

Can I still make a margin when I recharge to my own clients?

Yes, TAX UK costs each job based on “trade rates”, and you will always know how much each piece of work will cost before we begin.

Who is behind TAX UK?

TAX UK was founded by Lesley Stalker, Simon Paterson and Paul Webb, partners at the award winning Robert James Partnership.  Read more...

Who are your existing clients?

Although TAX UK is a new venture, Robert James Partnership has been providing practice to practice consultancy services to smaller accountancy firms for a very long time.  Read on to find out what current clients are saying about our services.

Will TAX UK poach your clients?

Absolutely not.  We don’t want to work with end user businesses and frankly, we wouldn’t be in business for very long if that was our intention!  We guarantee not to approach or accept work from your clients directly – either as RJP or TAX UK and will always act as the face of your own organisation.

What kind of information would I receive in eTAX UK?

In each edition we will cover a specific topic in detail to give you a thorough and jargon free understanding of the legislation. Plus we will include practical ideas about tax planning which would be relevant to your own clients, together with background information to enable you to make initial suggestions. Periodically we would also offer free tool kits - for instance, setting up EMI schemes or P11D checklists, which you could use to create your own internal systems. In addition we will publish special Practice Development editions, giving you practical advice on how you can develop and grow your own practice.
